Information for Authors, Editorial Process, and Peer-Review Policy

The general editors and the editorial board of Music Research Annual identify topics for articles, contact potential authors, and invite them to contribute articles to the journal. Submissions are first reviewed internally by the general editors and one or two members of the editorial board, who are designated as the “lead editor” (or “lead editors”) for that article. Following this first review, articles are then sent to one or more external manuscript reviewers for double-blind review. Based on the recommendation of the external manuscript reviewers, the general editors and lead editor make a final determination regarding publication. Music Research Annual does not charge authors any fees for publication in the journal. Please note that at this point, Music Research Annual does not accept unsolicited submissions and does not publish reviews of books, recordings, or films.
